Babies Halloween Costumes, Outfits & Fancy Dress
There are many Halloween costumes to choose from for a baby, depending on age, build, and mobility. Also, you should take the weather into consideration when choosing an outfit for a baby. The following are some ideas for what your baby can dress up as for Halloween.
For newborn babies:
Since newborns do not really move and cannot hold there heads up high, it is important to pick a snug, uncomplicated Halloween costume. Most newborn Halloween costumes look like baby bunting. Some ideas are to dress your baby in a pea-in-the-pod costume, hot dog, banana, or lobster outfit. These simply require putting your baby in the costume, zipping up the back, and having the baby's face come out of the cut out hole in the front.
Some other good standby newborn costumes are pumpkins, chicks, monkeys, and bears. Just ensure that the fabric is comfortable for the baby and is not too warm, as to cause overheating.
For babies, ages 3 months to 6 months:
Babies in this age range begin to develop personalities and have pretty good head control. Some Halloween costumes for these babies include animals, such as a skunk, peacock, bunny, or lion. You can also choose costumes of popular cartoon characters, such as Shrek, Scooby Doo, and Mickey Mouse. When choosing an outfit for this age range, make sure that the Halloween costume does not have any loose parts that the baby could accidentally choke on.
For babies, 6 months and older:
It is during this age that your baby may want to help you choose the Halloween costume. It is also the age in which the baby's personality can be represented in the costume. For a boy, you can dress him like a cowboy, police officer, little devil, or a pirate. Girls, on the other hand, can wear costumes, such as a princess, a ladybug, butterfly, or super girl. Make sure the Halloween costume fits the baby well and that there is not too much fabric or complicated features.
There are many baby Halloween costumes to choose from for your little one depending on what you are willing to spend and your baby's temperament. Some babies like to be bundled up, while others will need to have costumes that they can move in. Whatever you choose, your baby's costume is sure to be a big hit and great memories will be made!
